LASC Compliance
The LASC longwall automation strategy relies on existing longwall mining equipment from various vendors to form an important and integral part of the overall control system.
To ensure that the various components of the automation system (eg Face Alignment and Enhanced Horizon Control) function reliably and in accordance with the LASC specifications it is essential that the longwall equipment (roof support control system and shearer control system) supplied by the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) is certified as
LASC Compliant.
LASC Compliance guarantees interconnectability and interoperability between:
- LASC Technology
- OEM longwall equipment.
Longwall equipment customers intending to purchase LASC compliant OEM equipment should include the following statement in purchase documentation:
Roof support and longwall shearer equipment described in this request for tender [or order] must meet the requirements for LASC compliance as described in the following LASC specification documents.
- Interconnection of Landmark Compliant Longwall Mining Equipment – Roof Support System Communication and Functional Specification for Face Alignment.
- Interconnection of Landmark Compliant Longwall Mining Equipment – Shearer Communication and Functional Specification for Enhanced Horizon Control
